RWR & Cody Ware post top 10 in Xfinity Debut

Mooresville, NC

Rick Ware Racing has re-entered the NASCAR Xfinity series in a major way, posting a top 10 in its first start back. RWR is no stranger to the NXS, posting over 400 starts in the second tier series. RWR driver Cody Ware is on a hot streak, after returning to the Cup series last weekend and posting a solid top 20, the Greensboro driver expertly navigated the rainy conditions to finish 7th on Saturday.

“Unreal,” stated Ware, “to be able to return to the Xfinity series and then run up front in the Thriv5 #17 is amazing, I cant thank Mike Hilman Sr. and the guys at RWR for all their hard work and attention to detail. This is a brand new car for us and we unloaded fast.”

Crew Chief Mike Hilman Sr. echoed Cody’s thoughts, “Its pretty cool to be able to build a brand new car with a brand new team and to show up and be in the mix with the large teams immediately.” Hilman continued, “ Cody has really come into his own and after winning the Asian Le mans Championship, he really has found the confidence to run where he belongs, in the front.”

Team owner Rick Ware was ecstatic for not only the team, but also the new partner in Thriv5. “Its not just a great finish, but its an opportunity for us to get Thriv5 a ton of publicity and air time. They are a new partner of ours and for them to be on two very competitive and front running cars two weeks in a row is awesome.”

When asked about starting a new team for the NASCAR Xfinity series Ware stated,

“ I have always loved the NASCAR Xfinity series. We have had a ton of success and we felt that the time was right to return. Partnering with our Cup Series partners has given us the ability to reach even further and provide an amazing value for them.”

The #17 team is slated to run one more race this year at Martinsville in preparation for a full season in 2021.
